Leticia is a senior litigator based in our Ōtautahi Christchurch office with a broad practice spanning regulatory, criminal and public law. She advises and acts for clients in complex and high-stakes proceedings, including prosecutions, disciplinary matters and significant public law disputes.

She regularly appears in the District Court and High Court, and has particular expertise in proceedings before specialist tribunals and disciplinary bodies. Leticia also acts for the New Zealand Law Society in professional disciplinary proceedings against lawyers and is experienced in managing complex and sensitive matters involving professional standards and conduct.

Leticia acts for both regulators and individuals, bringing a strategic and balanced perspective to enforcement, compliance and risk. She is also regularly appointed by the Court as counsel to assist, including in matters involving vulnerable parties and procedural complexity.

Her practice includes mental health law, where she appears in proceedings under the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act. She has a particular interest in medico-legal issues and the intersection between law and clinical decision-making in this space.

She is a committee member of the Law Association of New Zealand Mental Health and Disability Law Committee, which engages with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice and Legal Services Commissioner, on issues affecting the operation and development of mental health and disability law in New Zealand.
