If you’re thinking about what 2023 looks like, don’t overlook what it means for people resource and the time involved in the necessary employment process.

In our experience, the lead up to Christmas is when employers often look ahead to their staffing needs for the new year. And in doing so, employers will often identify employment issues.

It might be an employee who's not performing, it may be a need to run a different staffing structure, or an employee may have done something wrong that needs addressing. The reality is that processes are needed to deal with all of these issues, and they take time.

Often, employers come to us in the weeks immediately prior to Christmas, wanting to address these issues so that they can start the year with a "clean slate". While there are a number of options in our toolbox, it is certainly better if employers get onto these issues early and commence a process to deal with them away from the hustle and bustle of the pre-Christmas rush.

While 2022 has been challenging from the perspective of just getting staff, many employers are finding that they don’t actually have the right people in the right roles, or they have staff who are not the right fit. All of these options require a process and, while they can seem daunting, with the right knowledge and expertise, the processes can be run very smoothly and reasonably quickly.

So, if you have concerns about an employee issue, or you are considering a different staff structure, please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss your options with you.
