About the opportunity:

We are looking for an ambitious Solicitor or Associate to join our Business Advisory team based in Ōtautahi Christchurch and working nationally on a broad variety of interesting work across sectors including retail, transport and logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, hospitality, and construction. This is a fantastic position which will see you working alongside highly skilled and experienced corporate and commercial lawyers and with some exciting and iconic global brands, New Zealand businesses, local government and not-for-profit clients across a broad range of work including commercial contracting, corporate and business advisory, intellectual property, licensing/franchising, local government, competition and consumer law, privacy and data protection and charity, social enterprise and not-for-profit law.

You’ll learn to tackle a variety of matters with the support of partners and senior members of the team and you’ll be well supported in developing the skills required to be a key part of shaping the growing practice. This role provides an excellent opportunity to obtain a broad range of experience across varied legal disciplines in the business advisory space.

What we are looking for:

The successful applicant will have a true desire to focus their career in the area of corporate and commercial law, and will display the following skills and attributes:

2+ years’ experience as a Solicitor or Associate, ideally within the corporate and commercial law space.
Personable, with well-developed communication skills.
Technically excellent.
Comfortable working in a high energy environment with the ability to think on their feet.
A curious mindset and willingness to be a continual learner.
Exceptional attention to detail.
A flair for teamwork and collaboration.
