Wynn Williams announces new Managing Partner

Wynn Williams is pleased to announce Ash Hill has been named the new Managing Partner of the Firm, effective 1 April 2023. Hill succeeds Philip Maw, who has been in the role for over four years.

Ash is a Partner in the Corporate Advisory & Transactions team. He joined Wynn Williams in 2014 and was instrumental in establishing the Firm’s Auckland office. He has been a member of the Firm’s Board for three years, and a member of the Executive Committee for the last two.

Philip will remain as a Partner at the Firm and a senior member of the Environment & Planning and Local Government team. He will also continue to sit on the Board.

On stepping into the role of Managing Partner, Ash says he’s looking forward to this next step in his career and is excited about leading the Firm into its next chapter.

“In the space of just 10 years, Wynn Williams has grown from a well-known regional firm in Canterbury to a full service national firm with three offices across Aotearoa, supporting domestic and international clients across almost every sector. Our growth has been welcomed by the market and I’m excited to now lead the Firm and further showcase the expertise of our people.”

Ash acknowledges the incredible leadership of Philip and is grateful the Firm will continue to benefit from his experience as a Board Member.

As Managing Partner, Ash will lead the Firm while still working closely with his clients on the significant merger and acquisition transactions he’s renowned for.
