Shane specialises in dispute resolution and is entrusted by his clients to manage complex and high value civil and commercial disputes. He acts for individuals, SMEs and corporates on a range of disputes, primarily involving company issues, contracts, negligence and contentions trusts and estates.

Shane is known for providing incisive advice and strategy. An accomplished advocate, he appears in hearings and trials at all levels of the New Zealand judicial system as well as appearing in arbitrations, mediations and adjudications.

More generally, Shane makes a notable contribution to the legal profession. He currently sits on the New Zealand Law Society Civil Litigation and Tribunals Committee where he contributes to law reform. He is also a regular contributor to academic journals and has previously tutored and lectured at the University of Canterbury.
